Happy First Birthday Trisha!!!

Well, actually it was yesterday. I knew I would forget to post it. I can't believe how fast time has gone! Trisha has been such a joy to have in our family. She is so mellow and cuddly. She hasn't really grown much in weight. She was born 5lbs 4oz, and now weighs about 14lbs. But she sure has gotten smarter! She still doesn't have teeth, but she has a BIG appetite. She is almost always happy, and it is so easy to get her to smile. She loves to dance to music, and loves to be put up on people's shoulders. A few times recently she has tried to stand without holding on to anything. It's going to be fun when she starts to walk, especially since she looks like a 3 month old, lol!

We celebrated with Jeff's family yesterday by going to Zeponie Pizza for dinner. She ate 1 1/2 pieces on her own. Then we went to my in-law's house and actually celebrated 2 birthdays. Jeff's sister Katie was in town and her husband, Ryan, has a birthday tomorrow. So we had 2 birthday cakes, sang Happy Birthday twice, and opened lots of presents. Trisha tried to grab her lit candle while I was trying to help her blow it out. She was also dancing during her song. We gave her a seperate little piece of her cake, since she has a cold, and let her dig into it. At first she just ate the different colors of icing. Once that was mostly gone, she grabbed big handfuls of chocolate cake and stuffed it in her mouth. It was so funny to watch! When she was done with her piece, she kept reaching for everyone elses.
She got a lot of presents: clothes, books, stuffed animals... she got an elephant with buttons that plays animal sounds and nursery rhyme songs. She threw all of her other presents away from her when she saw that one, and played it for the rest of the night. The rest of us played a bunch of games, and it was so fun with so many people there! All-in-all, it was a very fun day, and even though Trisha didn't get her 2nd nap and didn't go to bed until 11pm, she sure seemed to have a great time! Pictures will be posted later as soon as I get my husband's phone.

What Next?

Ty has croup AGAIN! He's had it about 4 times this year. He also just barely got over strep and has been on antibiotics. When he woke up this morning his whole body was covered in a rash that the doctor said was a reaction of the croup with the penicillin, so he looks and sounds horrible! Here is a few pics of his face and back.

He only feels sick at night, so he is pretty happy in this picture, lol!

He has the spots all over his chest, arms, ears and legs also. I am so glad they are not contagious! But his croup is and I cannot get him to keep covering his mouth! Hopefully Trish doesn't get it. She seems to have a stronger immune system than he does.

On a happy note, here are some cute pictures I been meaning to post:

Trisha is so fun! It's so easy to make her smile and laugh. This was like the 5th picture in a row that I took, and she smiled for them all! What a ham!

This was after the first snow we had this winter. We made this tiny snow man that Ty of coarse names "Frosty". After this he wanted to make a snowman for every one else in our family, plus the 4 kids we babysit and all of his Perkins cousins. There definitely wasn't enough snow then, but I'm sure there is more than enough snow today! I really don't like snow.

About a week ago I woke up to find Ty on Trisha's crib putting bandaids all over both of them. It's hard to see, but she also has one hanging on her ear. Silly boy!

Trish lost a lot of precious hair when I took her bandaids off. Ty didn't have them on him anywhere but his hands.I usually don't have anything to brag about but my kids. But here is a Bender that I crocheted, and I thought he turned out pretty cool! He is a character from the show Futurama. I am also working on some sack boys from the video game Little Big Planet. It's an extremely fun PS3 game that Tyler loves. He wants it for his birthday theme, so I am going to crochet a bunch of little ones as party favors for his birthday. This is the first time he will be able to have friends come to his party. I am excited!

Santa and Blood Tests

We went to a couple Christmas parties this week. One was with my biological family, the Hamblin's. The other was at my ward. Both parties had Santa, so I got a few pics of the kids with him. At the Hamblin party, Tyler sang "Santa Claus is Coming to Town" to Santa, just an idea he came up with, lol! I tried to record it, but I am still trying to figure out how to use my new phone. It was so cute though! At the second one Santa held Trisha so I could take her picture with him. She loved him! She was just smiling huge and giggling a little. The test we took yesterday came back positive for anemia so her pediatrician has her on iron drops. I haven't talked directly to her doctor so I am not sure yet on the details. But I have read that if it is diet related, it is easily fixed. If her body is the one not retaining the iron, it will be a life long problem. Hopefully it is fixable and the fainting will stop. I was pretty surprized that she didn't faint when they drew her blood. Even I didn't get queasy. Last time we had her blood tested the had me standing by her holding her up on this tiny little table with only the person drawing the blood present. I had to sit down so many times because I started to black out. I was so terrified that it would happen while I was holding her and she would fall off the table. At this lab they had me sit down and they had two people helping. Trish only cried while the needle was in her arm. She did turn blue, but didn't pass out. I will find out on more on Monday.

Fainting Trisha

Just to follow up on my last post, I took Trisha to the doctor and he said her fainting has nothing to do with being bonked by the laundry basket. He said she may have anemia if it persists. Well, it has. She faints a couple times a day now. Yesterday she fainted 8 times!!! I am taking her to get her blood tested hopefully some time today. I will update when I get the results. I was reading online about fainting kids and tons of moms say there kids did it until about 4 years old, but then stopped. I guess it's a common thing that she may have to grow out of. It's scary, but I am starting to get used to it. It is no fun, lol!
