GDM

I got the second Gestational Diabetes (GDM) test and it came out positive. I now have to go to a diabetes counselor and find out what I have to do with my diet in order to control it. There are lots of problems that the baby can get if it's not controlled properly. She can be born really big (Macrosomia, where baby is bigger than 10lbs), or Hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) for example. I will find out more about it at the consultation which isn't until the 9th. I am a little stressed because in the meantime I don't know what I can and can't eat other than candy. Halloween is going to suck this year, lol! But I am glad that I have something to force me to be healthy. I'll post up more once I get more information.

Hang in there! Hopefully you will find out that the diet isn't as restrictive as you thought. Keep us updated!

Just got your "tagged message" and posted a reply. Hope all is well for you. I know a lot of things you can and can't eat. Give me a call or Katie and we'll help you out. It's really not too bad, especially now with sugarfree candies and cakes and stuff. :)
