I am so bad at blogging! I have been pretty busy lately. We converted our basement apartment into a day care and I am almost licensed as a child care provider! It has been quite a process. I have had to take CPR/First Aid training, get a food handler's permit and a business license to name a few of the prerequisites for a child care license. I am really excited to have my own business and I really hope it works as well as I think it will. I have been tending a 9 month old boy (he is bigger than Trisha!) for about a week now and hope to get more once I am fully licensed.
Tyler turned 4 on the 13th and we let him have his first party! The theme was, "Little Big Planet", which is a really fun PS3 game that I mentioned in another post. I made 7 crocheted "sack people", which tool me about 3 hours each to make. The prep of the whole thing was a little stressful, but I think the party turned out well. He had 3 friends and their siblings come. Not as many as expected, but I had forgotten how crazy things can get with a bunch of little kids with high pitched voices running around so I am glad it wasn't too many. We played a few games to wear them out (it didn't work of course, lol!), and then decorated cupcakes. After that we played Little Big Planet until they went home. I think Ty had fun, although he was pretty sad when his friends had to leave.
I guess I didn't do a Christmas post either! Well lets see what I can do with this bad memory of mine. We had a really fun time. Lots of family was in town and we hung out a lot before they left. We did a really cool nativity play with parts and singing on Christmas Eve. Trisha was baby Jesus, I was Mary, Jeff was Joseph and Ty was a sheep. The rest of the extended family had parts too. We do the Nativity every Christmas Eve, but it was more involved and fun this year. On Christmas we went to Jeff's family's house, then we had my side of the family over at my house for Christmas dinner. In the days following we had an iron chef competition, a talent show, and tons of "girl time" with Jeff's sisters and his mom. It was busy, but really fun. Tyler got pink eye on Christmas Eve, so in between everything I had to take him to an insta care. He had to get 2 shots in his bum, poor kid! The infection had gone down into his (face) cheek and the doc said it was pretty bad. Luckily, even though every time he woke up his eyes were glued shut, no one else caught it. He has been healthy since that went away, thank goodness.
Tyler went to primary for the first time on the 3rd! I am so excited to see him sing in the programs. I have always loved watching the cute little kids singing and trying to sing and giving their little talks. Unfortunately he is a lot more hyper during sacrament, I think because he doesn't have play time now. Our church also starts at 11, which is when Trisha takes her first nap. She needs to turn 18 months so I can put her in nursery, lol! Speaking of Trisha, I think she may be finally growing some teeth! She still has none, but I have been able to feel bumps in her lower gums. She stood up yesterday on her own for the first time! Jeff has been coaxing her a lot lately and she has stood up a few times while leaning against something without holding on, but she was doing it freely a bunch yesterday. I can't believe how fast babies at her age learn! It's so fun to watch her. She has been coloring a lot lately. Every time she finds a pen or anything to write with, she immediately looks for a paper. If she can't find one, she will use the couch. Funny girl. I love my kids! They are so silly :)
